The FCYL held 2 regional Coaching Conferences, one in the North and one in the South. They both were very well attended by coaches within the FCYL.
To be able to 'raise the bar' on player development, Coach progression and development is imperative, and these events were the first held to launch the PPP (Player Performance Programme) which emphasises progressing and improving current youth coaching practises.
There were lectures on sports psychology in youth football, theory and practical in aerobic training also a strength and power training lecture which removed some of the 'myths' about young people lifting weights to strengthen muscles. Exercise ideas that were football specific were shared with the audience at North Herts College
